Karen Ann Hegg Epps, 65, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016.
A resident of the Ringgold area for the past 47 years, she was formerly of Chicago. Karen was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service where she worked for 32 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold John Hegg, Sr. and Florence Helena Lawson Hegg; and three brothers, Gary Hegg, and two who were both named Harold John Hegg, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Earl Franklin Epps, Sr., of Ringgold; four children, Earl F. (Patty) Epps, Jr., of Ringgold, Damion (Lori) Epps of Chatsworth, Jimmy (Amber) Epps, of Ringgold, and Devona (Tony) Hall, of Ringgold; brother, Bruce Hegg, Sr. of St. Paul, Mn.; four sisters, Nancy (Len) Harwell, of McHenry Il., Jean Johnson of McHenry, Donna (Ed) Snyder of Hopkins, Mn., and Joy (Norm) Eichmann, of McHenry; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Harold Hegg III and Steve Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m., 9 a.m.– 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and Thursday, from 9 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
