Earl B. McAmis, 82, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died on Monday, May 16, 2016.
He served our country with great pride and was a US Army veteran. He was retired from Chromatex of Rossville, GA. He was an avid golfer and bowler and loved all sports. He was a faithful member of West Cleveland Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andy McAmis and Pearl Roy McAmis; one son, Coach Steve McAmis; and four brothers, Roy, Glen, Ralph and Clyde McAmis.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Dyre McAmis; sons, Keith McAmis (Jane) and Wayne McAmis both of Cleveland, TN; daughter, Deborah Shults of Cohutta, GA; four granddaughters, Angie Underwood (Jeff), Stephanie Painter (Corey), Traci Elder (Adam) and Carmen Cranfill (Jason); several great-grandchildren; and one brother, A.B. McAmis.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Ward and Rev. Travis Humbard officiating. There will be a private graveside service.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Ralph BUckner Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
