Planning Commission Recommends Moving Foward With 7.5-Acre South Broad Street Development

The Planning Commission on Monday recommended approval for a development on 7.5 acres along South Broad Street.

The project by South Broad LLC and DEW LLC includes a three-story U-shaped apartment building with ground floor retail at the north end of the block between South Broad, Cowart Street, and West 26th Street.

Also within that block is a proposed two-story mixed use building fronting South Broad and four townhomes fronting Cowart Street. The rest of the proposed development on Cowart Street, Williams Street, and Long Street includes 34 lots for single-family homes.

Proposed density for apartments and townhomes is 20 dwelling units per acre (56units on 2.7 acres) and for single-family homes is seven dwelling units per acre (34lots on 4.8 acres).
