“I am super stoked about our season,” Dalton State volleyball coach Bruna Langner said as she announced the 2016 Roadrunner schedule.
Two new volleyball teams join the Southern States Athletic Conference this season. “William Carey and Middle Georgia State will add great competition to the conference,” said Langner.
Dalton State will have a dozen home matches at Bandy Gymnasium. The first SSAC home action will be nearly a month into the season. The Roadrunners will host Bethel at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, and Martin Methodist at noon on the 17.
The season will begin with a scrimmage in Panama City, Fl. against Gulf Coast Community College at 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, August 19th. The Roadrunners will then come back home to host Truett McConnell in an exhibition on Tuesday, August 23 at 7:00 p.m.
Dalton State will then bus up Lookout Mountain to Covenant College for a Tri-Match on Saturday, August 27, and travel to South Florida to play in the Keiser University Invitational on September 2 and 3 in Fort Lauderdale.
Faulkner and Brenau will provide the season’s first conference competition as DS travels to Montgomery and Gainesville on Thursday and Friday, September 8 and 9.
