Chattanooga Community Housing Development Organization (CCHDO), offers grants through its roofing program. CCHDO will replace a roof at zero cost to the resident as long as they meet grant restrictions.
Qualifications:
1. Reside in the city limits of the City of Chattanooga.
2. Meet HUD Low to Moderate Income qualification (within 80% of area median income. For example a single person’s total gross income must be at or below $35,300 per year. Higher income limit applies to larger households. (Call for additional detail).
3. House must be owner occupied. (Rental property does not qualify)
4. All city and county property taxes must have been paid through the current year.
5. Senior citizens and disabled homeowners will get priority consideration.
The work will be done by professional contractors who will provide a five-year comprehensive warranty on labor, material and installation. The program is through a five-year forgivable grant. After five years, the total amount of the grant will be forgiven.
CCHDO is a private non profit organization with the goal to revitalize neighborhoods and provide programs for low to moderate-income families through partnership with the City of Chattanooga, and other community development organizations. The funding for this program is provided through the City of Chattanooga and is available to all residents who live with in the city limits.
