Jeffrey Richmond
Jeffrey Lee Richmond, Sr., 60, of Chattanooga, died on June 30, 2016, surrounded by his wife and sons, while on a family vacation in Charleston, South Carolina.
Born on Nov. 6, 1955, in Aurora, Il., Jeff had lived in Chattanooga since 1996.
He was employed with Roadtec, Inc., a division of Astec Industries, Inc. for the past 20 years having served as president of the company since April 2004. Jeff thoroughly enjoyed his career and considered Roadtec his second family. The support they provided to Jeff and his family as he fought a valiant fight was overwhelming to him and appreciated beyond words.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Richmond; two sons, Jeffery Lee Richmond Jr., and his wife, Phaedra, of Ooltewah, and Michael Richmond and his wife, Julie, of Yorkville, IL; parents, Gerald and Norma Richmond of Ooltewah; brother, Dale Richmond and his wife, Cyndie of Fairport Harbor, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Nothing brought Jeff greater joy than bringing doughnuts and spending time with his six grandchildren, Raelyn, Elijah, Haley, Leo, Lyla and Levi.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. Kerry Friesen, Dr. Larry Schlabach and Dr. Norleena Gullett. No words can express how wonderful the Radiation staff at Erlanger has been; their caring and compassion helped Jeff get through numerous tough times. Last, but not least, the family would like to thank the incredible staff of Medical University of South Carolina.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 9, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
