Chattanooga Woman With History Of Drug Abuse Shot And Killed By Homewood, Ala., Police After Pulling Gun

A Chattanooga woman with a history of drug abuse was shot and killed by police during a robbery attempt in Homewood, Ala., on Friday afternoon.

She was identified as 40-year-old Amanda Page Bivens, who has made a number of court appearances in Hamilton County, including in Drug Court.

Ms. Bivens, who has two daughters and a son, was at a Marco Xpress store when police got word about a robbery.
 
After officers found her outside the store, she pulled a gun.
 
When she did, three officers fired at her and she slumped to the ground. About 12 shots were fired by officers.

She was dead at the scene.
