Marvin Shelton
Marvin Jack Shelton, 70, died on Sunday, August 28, 2016.
He was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather and a redeemed child of God. He was an active member of Woodland Park Baptist Church. He had a deep faith in Jesus and shared his faith and love of the Lord with others. He grew up in Knoxville and attended the University of Tennessee. A music lover, he played trombone in the Pride of the Southland Band as well as the Concert band. He proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. He was a well respected mortgage banker in the Chattanooga area before retiring in 2014.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 46 years, Carolyn, his loving son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Lynn Shelton, and a precious granddaughter, Evie Shelton. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Sandy Morgan and husband Bill, of Chickamauga, GA, brothers-in-law, Steve Welch and wife Debbie of Huntsville, AL and Jim Welch and wife Mary of Falls Church, VA, as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him.
The family will receive friends at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, followed by a memorial service at 7:30 p.m., with Pastor Steve McCary officiating
