Couple Ganged After Arranging To Sell PlayStations Via Letgo App

  • Saturday, January 21, 2017

Two men and a woman have been charged in an incident in which a couple said they were robbed, ganged and threatened with a gun after meeting to sell PS3 and PS4 PlayStations for $200.

The couple said the deal was set up through the app Letgo that is used for selling items to individuals.

They said it was arranged that they meet with the potential buyer, Charley Daniel, on Tuesday. He told them to meet him at 7974 Boston Lane in Boston Hills in Hixson.

The couple said when they arrived that Daniel was standing at the address and he waved for them to go across the street. They said they went into an empty basement apparently to prove that the PlayStations worked.

The couple said Joseph Hood and Lee Ann Brock, along with Ms. Brock's eight-year-old daughter, also went into the basement. They had arrived in a gold Tahoe with a messed-up window.

The couple said at that point that Daniel told them they "just got robbed."

When the owner of the PlayStations picked them up, he was ganged by Daniel, Hood and Ms. Brock, it was stated. They said Daniel and Hood pulled out knives.

The woman was able to get back to her car and the man ran down the road, where she picked him up.

They said Hood and Daniel tried to get in the back of the car and take the PlayStations while threatening to kill them.

The couple said they went on down the road and pulled into a driveway to call police. They said the gold Tahoe pulled up behind them.

They said they came to a train track, but were stopped by a passing train, and were blocked in at the rear by the gold Tahoe.

The woman said Ms. Brock opened the passenger door and started hitting her, while yelling for her to get out. She said at one point the young daughter sought to get her mother off the woman.

The couple said Hood was beating on their car at this point.

They said the train finally passed and they were able to get away.

Arrested were Lee Ann Hood, 36, of 1925 Wilkes Ave., Soddy Daisy (aggravated robbery, criminal conspiracy, assault); Charley Wayne Daniel, 27, of 1300 Thatcher Road, Soddy Daisy (aggravated robbery, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault and theft of property), and Joseph Daniel Hood, 30, of 8975 Daisy Dallas Road, Soddy Daisy (aggravated robbery, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault and theft of property).
