Georgia Northwestern Basketball Schedule Announced

Plenty of familiar names will be on tap for the Georgia Northwestern Bobcats' basketball team as the 2017-2018 schedule is being released today.

The Bobcats will open their home and regular season slate against the Hiwassee College JV team on 
Nov. 1 at the Rossville Athletic Center (R.A.C.), which will once again serve as the home court for the Bobcats.

Georgia Northwestern will make the drive to Florida for the Trinity Baptist College Classic 
Nov.
3-4
. The Bobcats open against the host team and they will face off with Georgia Gwinnett College the following day.

A trip to Powell, Tenn. on 
Nov. 9 will see Georgia Northwestern battle their rivals from The Crown College and another longtime foe will be waiting on Nov. 11 when West Georgia Tech comes to Rossville on Nov. 11 for the annual Food Drive Game.

GNTC will close out the month with road trips to Southern Crescent Tech in Griffin, Ga. (
Nov. 17) and to Athens, Tenn. to face Tennessee Wesleyan University's JV team (Nov. 21). They will make the short drive to Lookout Mountain on Nov. 28 to take on the JV Scots from Covenant College.

A short December slate begins with a trip to Asheville, N.C. for a game against Warren Wilson College on 
Dec. 1. Tennessee Wesleyan will come to Rossville for a rematch on Dec. 5 and the annual Tim Walthour Memorial Tournament will be held Dec. 8-9.

The first day of the tournament will see Welch College take on Georgia Gwinnett, while the host Bobcats will face Trinity Baptist College.


The Georgia Northwestern Bobcats' Alumni Game will be played at the R.A.C. on 
Jan. 2 and the current Bobcats will get back to work on Jan. 6 with a game at Barber-Scotia College in West Concord, N.C. They have another road game at Bryan College on Jan. 9 against the Lions' JV.

Two home dates follow against Southern Crescent Tech (
Jan. 12) and The Crown College (Jan. 16) before the Bobcats go back on the road to Covington, Ga. to participate in the Emory-Oxford Classic. Georgia Northwestern will take on the host team on Jan. 19 before a game against the Georgia Highlands Diamonds on Jan. 20.

Bryan's JV team comes to Rossville for a rematch on 
Jan. 22 and Emory-Oxford pays a visit to the R.A.C. for Rec League Night on Jan. 27. The month will conclude with a home rematch against the Covenant College JV team on Jan. 30.

Georgia Northwestern will head to Madisonville, Tenn. on 
Feb. 1 to take on the Hiwassee JV squad before coming home to square off with Florida College in the annual Pink Game for breast cancer awareness on Feb. 3. The homestand continues on Feb. 6 against Barber-Scotia.

The Bobcats will play two straight road games at Toccoa Falls (
Feb. 13) and at Welch (Feb. 16) before the regular season finale at home against Georgia Gwinnett (Feb. 23).
