Anne Meade Fields Hart of Knoxville, Tennessee, and formerly of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully at her home in Knoxville.

Anne was predeceased by her parents, Harry Lee Fields, Jr. and Jean Wolfe Fields.

She is survived by her sister, Katie Fields Bell (B. B.) of Chattanooga and brothers, Harry Lee Fields, III (Sara) of Chattanooga and R. Mark Fields (Kit) of Jackson, Ms., along with nephews, a niece and close cousins. 

Anne graduated from Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga in 1963 and attended the University of Georgia. She was presented at the Chattanooga Cotton Ball in 1964. Anne had exceptional writing skills that led to an extensive professional career as a reporter for the Chattanooga Times and the Knoxville News Sentinel. Anne later served as chief of staff for Knoxville Mayor Kyle Testerman and managed political campaigns for Testerman and other southeastern candidates. Anne’s later career included contract publishing, real estate sales and reporting for the Shopper-News in Knoxville. 

Anne loved Rotary and was proud to be a Lifetime Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Bearden.

Anne loved her family and many friends, her cats and her Dalmatian, Pepper. And, she really loved Elvis. 

Visitation will be held from 1:30–3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home on Kingston Pike in Knoxville. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. There will be a brief graveside service for Anne’s family and local friends at Greenwood Cemetery, Chattanooga, on Monday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m.
