Hester McKaig
Hester Gaines McKaig, 95, of Rising Fawn, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017.
She was of the Methodist faith. Hester loved her family, cooking, crosswords, gardening, sewing and making beautiful quilts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil McKaig; parents, Lee Gaines and Leila and Walter Morton; siblings, Effie Williams, Betty Veal and Buck Gaines.
She is survived by her children, Marian (Bob) McKaig Thompson, Robert (Brenda) McKaig; grandchildren, Colin McKaig, Katie Hunter, Julie Duncan, Craig Thompson; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Susan Palmer, Pam Crutchfield, David Williams, Rodney Veal; several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Wesley Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
Family will receive friends, at the funeral home, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and/or The Ronald McDonald House.
