Colin Chavez Shropshire, 26, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017.
He was a former employee of Mt. Vernon Mill and attended LaFayette High School where he was on the basketball team.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Johnny and Annie Allgood and George and Katherine Shropshire.
He is survived by his parents, Adrian (Amanda) Shropshire of Chickamauga and Stephanie Earlene Chambers of LaFayette; one sister, Shelby Shropshire Arden of Chickamauga; two brothers, Tyler Shropshire and Dillon Shropshire of LaFayette; paternal grandparents, Johnetta (Odell) McSears, grandparents, Vernon Shropshire; maternal grandparents, Gwen Chambers of LaFayette and Earl (Angie) Chambers of Calhoun; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Service of Memory will be held on Sunday, March 12, at 5 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Dunwoody Road, LaFayette, with Minister Dwayne Stamper, Pastor Rheubin Taylor and other ministers officiating.
His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday after 11 a.m. and at Mount Zion Baptist Church on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. until the funeral hour.
