Lenora Hines Brown was born on August 5, 1922, to the late Blumer and Lizzie Hines of Chattanooga. She entered into the gates of heaven on May 6, 2017 with family at her side.

Lenora was a faithful and devoted member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was baptized by Rev. G. W. Bonds. She served on the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee. Lenora was educated in the Chattanooga public schools. 

Lenora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred D. Brown; son, Joseph C. Brown, Sr.; daughter, Beverly B. Bruell (Winford); grandson, Terrance Poe, Sr.; a sister and five brothers. 

Survivors include her sons, Fred D. Brown, Jr., Rodney Brown and James C. Brown, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Darlene, Donna, Terrance, Tonya, Joe, Winford Jr., Aneta, Jaleathea, Darryl, Mashun, Darryl, and Lisa; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Hattie Bryant, Chattanooga; nieces, other relatives and friends.  

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 12, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.  

The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, May 11, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home.
