Patricia Anne (Stuckey) Mosier, 82, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 7, 2017 after a long and valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  We rejoice in knowing that Pat’s (Trish) physical suffering has been replaced with complete health, wholeness, joy and praise!

Pat was born on Oct. 8, 1934, in Jacksonville, Fl. As her father was in the Navy, her family moved often around the Southeast. Once settling in Trussville, Al., Pat was named Miss Trussville in her junior year of high school.  The following year, the family relocated to Chattanooga where she attended Chattanooga City High School and was named Miss City High in her senior year.  She received her registered nursing degree in 1955 from Birmingham Baptist Hospital School of Nursing (Samford University, Birmingham).  Pat practiced nursing while living in Tucson, Az., in addition to Memphis and Knoxville.  While in Knoxville, she also served in the Tennessee Air National Guard and earned the rank of first lieutenant.

Pat married the love of her life, Dr. Joe L. Mosier on Dec. 18, 1955, in Birmingham. After supporting Joe through dental school, they moved to Chattanooga, where they would settle and raise a family.

Pat was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga serving as president of Women in the Church from 1988-1989, as well as co-chairperson of “It’s a wonderful Life”, circle leader, and a lifelong member of the Joy of Living Bible Study.  Pat was also an active member of the Chattanooga Area Dental Alliance, serving as president in 1984-85, as well as the president of the Alliance of the Tennessee Dental Association in 1994.

Our mother was an authentic, warm, loving, passionate, and witty lady, as well as, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Pat was truly beautiful on the inside, as well as, on the outside.  She will forever be remembered for her infectious laugh, sense of humor, passion for her faith in Jesus Christ and her love for others.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Kenneth and Anita D. Stuckey.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Joe L. Mosier; her four children, Lynn Bryant (Kevin) , Sam Hudson (Jimmy),  Karen Skahan, and Joe Mosier, Jr. (Amy);  two sisters, Vicki Wood, Martine Bartholomay (Charley), as well as 12 grandchildren - Mary Shelton Wells (Patrick), Patrick Bryant, John Bryant, Hayden Bryant, Chuck Hudson, Grace Hudson, Margaret Anne Hudson, Kaitlin Skahan, Jack Skahan, Ben Skahan, Joe Mosier, III (Jay), Sarah Mosier, and one great-grandchild, Hallie Grace Wells, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 11, at 12:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, with John Queen presiding.

The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Camp Vesper Point, 554 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37402 or The Bright School, 1950 McDade Lane, Chattanooga, TN 37405.

The family would like to thank Pat’s caregiver team, Dr. Walter Parkhurst and Hearth Hospice for their love and care.
