Jackie Hamilton
Jackie Lawrence Hamilton, 82, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on January 4, 2018.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1935, to the late Creed Lawrence and Florence Maddux Hamilton. Jackie was a sixth generation Bradley Countian. He was an entrepreneur and owned his own car detailing business. He was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and in many other capacities throughout the years.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Loye V. Hamilton; and mother and father-in-law, Robert “Lon” Hixson and Polly Hicks Hixson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 61 years, Sharon Hixson Hamilton; son, Rob Hamilton (Karen); daughter, Melissa “Missy” Hamilton Biggs; grandchildren: Anthony Hamilton (Tiffany), Casie Hamilton Miller (Jamie), Dylan Biggs, Tucker Biggs; great grandchildren: Anna Miller, Jessie Miller, Taylor Miller, Logan Hamilton, and Emma Hamilton; sisters: Frances Pierce (Mike), Joye Goodner (Jim), Juanita Eldredge (Johnny-dec.); brothers, Carl Hamilton (Ann) and Bill Hamilton (Debra); brother in law Robert “Reggie” Hixson (Jane). In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, special friends and neighbors, Clifford and Jo Plemons, Jean McDonald (Charlie-dec.) and longtime friend, Don Ledford, Sr.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 8, from 12-2 p.m. at North Cleveland Baptist Church located at 2815 N Ocoee Street, Cleveland, Tn. 37312.
A celebration of life service will be held at the church at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jay McCluskey officiating. The family request contributions be made to North Cleveland Baptist Church or the Charity of your choice. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
