Maurice Thurman Jr., 18, Charged With Shooting Woman, 4-Year-Old Child On Foust Street

Thursday, October 11, 2018
Chattanooga Police have filed charges against a suspect in the shooting of a four-year-old child and a woman that occurred Tuesday at 2100 Foust St.

Maurice Thurman Jr., 18, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Chattanooga Police at 10:42 p.m. Tuesday had responded to a person shot call and they located two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Since that time, CPD's Major Crimes Investigators worked continuously to collect evidence, interview witnesses and victims, and follow up on leads. The CPD Public Safety Cameras monitored at the Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) played a key part in locating the suspect and the vehicle he was driving at the time of the incident.

CPD's Neighborhood Policing and Fugitive Units along with Chattanooga Housing Authority Police contributed to the successful identification and apprehension of the suspect.

But I also believe my ... (click for more)
