Despite trailing 2-0 with under 15 minutes remaining the Lee men's soccer team rallied for two late goals to force overtime and a 2-2 draw with Christian Brothers University on a crispy fall Friday night at the Lee Soccer Field.

Fittingly on senior night it was two seniors who scored to get the Flames back into the match. Lee finally broke through as senior Jose Orellana headed home a pass from Samir Williams in the 77th minute.

Veteran Alfie Coldron then stepped up and curled a free kick over the wall of defenders into the top left corner of the goal to square things back up.
Coldron earned some redemption after missing a penalty kick off the cross bar earlier in the second half.

"I was very proud of the boys tonight. For us to fight back like that, being two goals down that late was special and on senior night for two of our seniors to put us on their backs and give us that lift was huge," said head coach Derek Potteiger.

With just 1:30 remaining in regulation Lee keeper Daniel Hrenko charged forward and turned away a point-blank shot to keep the Flames alive and force overtime. Hrenko finished with three saves.

"It appeared like they were just going to settle for overtime but then we got loose in the back and Dan came up with an incredible save to keep things tied. He makes big plays for us in big spots and that was certainly one of those moments," said Potteiger.

Coldron nearly scored again in the overtime periods, just missing the mark on a couple of more set piece opportunities. Lee outshot CBU, 5-3.

CBU's Xavi Lao was fouled in the box and converted a penalty kick in the 54th minute to help the Bucs draw first blood in the match after a scoreless first half.

Abib Keita provided a big insurance goal for the Memphis club as he hammered a shot home at the 73:46 mark.

The two clubs battled to a scoreless draw in the first half. The Flames outshot the Bucs, 6-1 with the best scoring chance coming off a free kick as Jonah Bryan nearly converted a header off the set piece but the attempt sailed just wide of the mark.

The Flames recorded 21 shots to just 12 for the visitors. Lee held an 8-5 advantage in shots on frame.

The tie moves the Flames to 5-1-2 in the GSC and 7-3-3 overall.

Viktor Hoestbo tallied six saves in the match for the Bucs who now sit at 4-4-3 and 3-1-2 in the GSC. CBU extended its undefeated streak to seven matches, going 4-0-3 during that stretch.

Prior to the match the Flames honored their eight seniors, Danny Johnston, Craig Quinn, Palle Jespersen, Drew Jackson, Jose Orellana, Jake Brown, Ryan McGrath and Alfie Coldron.

Lee will entertain Union University on Sunday afternoon in a GSC matchup. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
