Moc Golfers 11th At Trinity Forest Invitational

  • Tuesday, October 30, 2018
The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team ended the fall portion of the 2018-19 season with an 11th-place finish at the Trinity Forest Invitational. The 54-hole total of 911 was just two strokes behind ninth-place Kansas State and trailed 10th-place Dallas Baptist by one while ending 13 shots clear of Kentucky in 12th.

A tough opening 18 put the Mocs in a hole. Their 601 score over the final 36 holes was tied for sixth best among a strong field. That ended with 304 over today’s final 18.

Maddy McDanel led the way with 74.
Rheagan Hall was next at 76, while Monica San Juan and Esme Hamilton each carded 77. Kirsty Beckwith had the drop score of 79. McDanel tied for 16th overall with 8-over par 224. San Juan tied for 29th at 227 with Hamilton one behind tying for 34th.

Hamilton set a lot of new personal marks over her two days in Dallas. She started the first three events before sitting out last week’s trip to Louisville. Having earned her way back into the lineup, Hamilton responded with her best 18, 36 and 54-hole scores.

Illinois (872) by nine over Tennessee (881). Oregon State (890) ended up a distant third. Ellie Slama of the Beavers won medalist honors at 2-under 214.
