Red Bank Home Sustains Damage From Kitchen Fire On Wednesday

A home in Red Bank was damaged by fire Wednesday afternoon.

At 3:45 pm, the Red Bank Fire Department responded to a possible house fire located at 101 Wickley Road. The first engine arrived on the scene reporting heavy smoke showing from the eaves.

Firefighters quickly conducted an interior attack and found fire in the kitchen area. Within 15 minutes, the fire was under control.

The Red Bank FD requested a Mutual Aid response for additional manpower. The Chattanooga Fire Department and Dallas Bay VFD responded to the scene. Walden’s Ridge Emergency Services covered Red Bank’s fire district for additional emergency calls. Hamilton County Marine Rescue responded to the scene for rehab.

No injuries were reported, but HCEMS was on the scene for potential injuries to the firefighters.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Red Bank Fire Department. Fire officials did confirm the fire started in the kitchen and did not have active smoke detectors. Damages are estimated at $40,000.

The victims had been renting the house and did not have renter’s insurance.
