John Adam Tomic, 78, of Soddy Daisy, passed away at Hospice of Chattanooga on Saturday, November 10, 2018.

John was born in Canton, Oh., on June 25, 1940.  He graduated from Timken Vocational High School in 1958.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Akron University and has worked most of his life in the foundry industry. John was married on June 14, 1969 to Carolyn Tomic. They were married for 49 years prior to Carolyn passing away less than three months ago.

John was passionate about fishing and other sportsman activities, his work, Ohio State football, and was a great provider for his family.  He was very proud of his children and loved his wife fiercely.  John had many friends through fishing, work, and neighbors that loved him and will miss him greatly.  He was truly young at heart in how he lived life.

He now joins his wife, who was the love of his life, in the next life.  Please help us celebrate a passionate life.

He is survived by his son, John Andrew Tomic and his family Cecilia, Blaz, and Gelina; daughter, Lt. Col. Stacy Marie Tomic; sister, Mary Tomic; sister-in-law, Kathryn Pasch; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson, Tn.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are under care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
