Winfield Ross Hensley, 78, of Rossville, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018. He had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of his life and was of the Christian faith. He was employed with Trimac as a truck driver for more than 40 years and was known locally as the “Icee Man.” He loved his family and would do anything for his children, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Delia Hensley; his wife, Wylene Hensley; and several siblings.
Survivors include his children and spouses, Terry & Kelly Cagle, Teddy & LeAnn Cagle, Teresa & Denton Reeves and Tara Hays; brothers, David Hensley and James Hensley; sisters, Eva & Louie Mahan and Dorothy Carden; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his beloved dogs, Precious, Taco & Moo; and numerous extended family & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 on Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel, with Rev. James Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
