U.S. Navy Veteran Was Fuels Engineer With TVA For 38 Years

Wade W. Wilcox, 91, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on November 11, 2018, at Hospice of Chattanooga Health Care Center.  

He was born June 2, 1927 in Mountain City, Tn., the son of Ross and Marie Wilcox.  Wade attended Johnson County High School and graduated from East Tennessee State College.  Wade was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and longstanding member of Red Bank Baptist Church.  He was employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority retiring after 38 years of service as a fuels engineer.  

Wade was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Wilcox; brother, Paul Wilcox; and a sister, Marcelean Debord and his parents.  

Wade is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Stephens Wilcox; daughter, Ann (Michael) Hurley; sister, Betty Maze; grandson, Wade Hurley; and granddaughter, Megan Hurley as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, and funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, all at Lane Funeral Home ~ Ashland Terrace.
