Upcoming Street Closings Announced

E 7th Street

E 7th Street will be closed between Walnut Street and Cherry Street from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. for the Hamilton County office move.  Detours will be posted.

Market Street

Beginning on Thursday, southbound traffic on Market Street at King Street will be narrowed down to one lane and sent over to a northbound lane, while northbound traffic will narrow down to one lane.
The Market Street and King Street intersection will be signalized, and King Street will open to traffic. W 13th will remain closed for the duration of the project, which is estimated to take three to four weeks.  

Valleybrook
 Road

Valleybrook Road will be closed at 432 Valleybrook Road on Friday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., as well as Monday until Wednesday, Nov. 21, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Local detours will be posted.

W 20th Street

Beginning on Monday, Nov. 19, traffic along W 20th Street under the Highway 27 bridge will be shifted. This shift is estimated to continue until mid-February, 2019 for work being completed on Highway 27.

W 12th Street

Beginning on Monday, Nov. 19, W 12th Street will be closed to westbound traffic between Poplar St and Carter Street for work being completed on Highway 27. This closure is estimated to continue until mid-February. Local detours will be posted.

Stephen Laton Moore, 34, was shot and killed early Sunday morning on East 5th Street. At approximately 12:19 a.m., Chattanooga Police were dispatched to a report of a person shot in the 2500 block of East 5th Street. Car Runs Into Captain D's On Hixson Pike

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Chattanooga firefighters with Quint 6 watched as a car ran into the corner of the Captain D’s restaurant at 5106 Hixson Pike.
