James Eslinger
James William Eslinger, 95, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at his residence.
He was a member at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, choir member, and Sunday School teacher. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Eslinger and Mary Cassie Marler Eslinger; son, Robert Shadwick; three sisters, Irene Durham, Dorothy Eslinger, and Betty Thurman, and brother, Andy Eslinger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruba Lois Richmond Eslinger; two children, Debbie Anderson and husband Gary of Cleveland, Renee Goins and husband Mitch of Chattanooga; one daughter-in-law, Debra Shadwick; five grandchildren, Sharon Dean and husband Jimmy, Jessica Shadwick, Jeff Shadwick, Cassie Finchum and husband Matt, and Josh Ridings; great grandchild, Matthew (M.J.) Finchum; sister, Bobbie Weaver of Cohutta, GA; brother, Dennis Eslinger and wife Dot of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. The playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Friday prior to the service.
