Geraldine Etheridge
Geraldine Harrell Etheridge, 86, of Cleveland, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2018.
Mrs. Etheridge will be returning to her home in Columbus, Ga., where there will be a graveside service at Parkhill Cemetery. Mrs. Etheridge was born Dec. 24, 1931, in Russell County, Al. She was a 1950 graduate of Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama. After High School, she moved to North West Florida where she resided for twenty years. Mrs. Etheridge then moved to Columbus, Georgia where she spent the next 34 years. She was a longtime member at Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Columbus. While in Columbus she attended nursing school then worked as a License Practical Nurse at Phenix City Memorial Hospital. She was also a part of the singing group: The Golden Tones. Mrs. Etheridge was the daughter of the late William Tenzie and Maudie Lee Butler Harrell.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Theophilius Harrison Etheridge, a brother, William Delma Harrell, a sister, Sarah Harrell Thompson, and stepdaughter, Peggy Fuller.
Mrs. Etheridge is survived by her daughter, Sharon Seagraves (Tom) of Cleveland; sons, David Cummings of Fountain, Fl., Donald Cummings (Tina) of Youngstown, Fl., Patrick Cummings (Lorie) of Lakeland, Fl., stepdaughter Dianne Meisenheimer, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service held on Monday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA.
