Clifton "Cliff" Moore
Clifton “Cliff” Moore, 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at the family residence.
He was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Bacon Moore and by his loving wife Bettye Trimm Moore.
Mr. Moore was born on Dec. 27, 1932, and was a 1951 graduate of Bradley Central High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War, in Germany between 1954 and 1956 with The Big Red One. He was also stationed at Fort Riley, Fort Jackson, Fort Stewart and was in the reserves for 12 years. He was an former employee with Dupont, Hardwick Stove for 28 years, he managed Radio Shack and worked at Scott’s Furniture. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a Master Mason with Cleveland Lodge #134. He was an avid fan of all Tennessee Sports and loved the Atlanta Braves.
He is survived by his daughters Cheryl Ledford and her husband Richard, Wendy Hamilton and her husband Greg, his sons Barry Moore and his wife Beckie, Terry Moore and his wife Jewel, his grandchildren and great grandchildren Hallie, Abby, Tanner, Ashley Hamilton, Josh Hamilton and his wife Hannah, Christal Ledford Watson, Jamie Ledford Bird, Bridgett Moore Ellison, Heather Moore Stoker, Carlisa Wright Sampson, Sergeant First Class Carter Wright, Wendy Coultry, Master Sergeant Ryan Coultry, Teresa Coultry and Tammy Sandford, his brother Howard Moore and his wife Polly, several nieces and nephews and his very special friend Marilyn Chestnut.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Monday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Reverend Tim Bracken officiating. A Masonic Service will follow the funeral.
The interment will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will include James Sampson, Aaron Bird, Jeffery Stoker, Nate Ellison, Kyle Langford, Carter Wright, Ryan and Wendy Coultry.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
