Jerry E. Moorehead
Jerry E. Moorehead, age 49, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, November 15, 2018 from injuries sustained in a pedestrian-automobile accident one day prior to his fiftieth birthday.
Jerry was born Nov. 16, 1968 in Dalton, a son of the late Lawrence Edward and Frances Land Moorehead, Sr. He was a 1986 graduate of Southeast High School and was formerly employed at Walmart.
Jerry was crazy about professional wrestling and video games. He loved cherry cola, fried chicken and Georgia football. He was very talkative, caring and a little bit funny.
He is survived by his wife, Angela “Angie” Starks Moorehead of the residence and celebrated their twelfth wedding anniversary, Oct. 28, 2006; daughters, Carrie Moorehead, Alicia and Shane Self; son, Brandon Hardy; sisters, Brenda Young, Cathy Moorehead, all of Dalton, Ga.; brothers, Edward Moorehead of Resaca, Ga., Presley and Angela Moorehead, Johnny Moorehead, all of Calhoun, Ga.; mothers-in-law and fathers-in-law, Shelah and David Steele of Dalton, Ga., Don and Linda Starks of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Greg and Angela Starks of Loganville, Ga., Wendy and Tony Elrod of Dalton, Ga., Chaseton Starks of Atlanta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Jerry E. Moorehead will be held Monday afternoon, Nov. 19, at 3 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Stoney Kiser and Reverend Mark Ridley officiating. He will be laid to rest with his parents at the Cove Church Cemetery with Brandon Hardy, Shane Self, Jason Moorehead, Brogan Young, Bryce Young and Greg Starks serving as pallbearers. Music will be provided by Ruby Tate.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 1 p.m. Monday until the service hour.
