During halftime of the men's basketball game on Saturday, Cleveland State Athletics recognized their soon to be graduating sophomore cross country runners.

Whitney McConnell, Madison Guider, and Luis Perez were the runners recognized, all of which were a part of the first-ever cross country team at Cleveland State. Madison and Luis were considered the number one runners on their respective teams.

Whitney was a vocal leader for the Lady Cougars, helping establish a solid foundation for the program's future.

Whitney McConnell will be attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga while Madison Guider will attend Tennessee Wesleyan University. Luis Perez currently has multiple offers to run cross country at the next level but is undecided on where he'll go.
