The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team opened the Chattanooga Fall Invitational with a clean sweep in doubles action and a 4-0 mark overall today.  The Mocs scored three doubles wins and a singles victory at the UTC Tennis Center.

Senior Caroline Hall and freshman Polina Goloputova cruised to a 6-0 win over Western Kentucky's Zeniece Charles-Hall and Judit Gonzales in the No. 3 match.  Junior Annie Tarwater and sophomore Bogdana Zaporozhets were also solid in their 6-3 win at No.
2.

"I thought it was a good first day, going 4-0 on our home court," stated UTC head coach Chad Camper.  "I thought our energy was high throughout the day, but we have a lot of tennis left to play.  I look forward to it all coming together."

Senior Delaney Edwards and sophomore Emma Van Hee grinded out a tough match at No. 1 against the Hilltopper's Laura Bernardos and Lisa Friess.  That match went to a tiebreaker with the Mocs winning in the extra frame [7-6 (5)].

Freshman Lily Holmes played the lone singles match for UTC.  She defeated Jacksonville State's Shauna Casey (6-3, 6-4).  A link to complete results from today is available at the top of the page.
