Roberta Bruce Newman, 77, a resident of Harrison, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018, at a local hospital.

Roberta was a state employee for 32 years. She was also a dedicated member of Bayside Baptist church where she served in the nursery for 30 years. She loved arts and crafts, sewing, and painting. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Patricia Lee Bruce.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 57 years, Bige Newman; children, Teresa (Pat) Morgan, Randy (Kristen) Newman, Bruce (Heather) Newman; grandchildren, Jensen (Michelle) Morgan, Cameron Newman, Audra (Matt) Hopkins, Tyler Newman, Karly Newman, Karrigan Newman, and Garrett Newman; one great-grandchild; siblings, Jimmy (Sandy) Bruce, Larry (Brenda) Bruce, Jackie (Carol) Bruce, and Sandy (Jimmy) McClure. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family along with many friends from Bayside Baptist.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 3-5 p.m. with a short intermission before viewing again from 6-8 p.m. at Bayside Baptist Church in Harrison.

The celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. at Bayside Baptist Church. The interment will follow at Sewee Church of God Cemetery in McMinn County. Officiating will be Reverend Grady Cooper.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bayside Baptist Church Building Fund.
