Floyd “Sam” Cross, 85, a resident of Benton, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his residence.  He retired from Honeywell after 30 years of service.  He loved his grandchildren and Ford cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fate and Irene Mull Cross; son, Sammy Cross; and siblings, Henry Cross, Viola Swann, Jack Cross and Burch Cross.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Ice Cross; children, Mike (Melodie) Cross, Lois (James) Hicks, Liz (Carl) Haulk and Brenda Lawson; grandchildren, Tonya (Marlin) Waldroup, Bull (Stephanie) Cross, David (Jamie) Hicks, Jennifer (Chad) Maxwell, Mandy (Jose) Gerena, Felicia (Tristin) Hawkins, Faith (Jeff) Hicks, Jacklynn Lawson, Trisha Cross, Felica Cross and Veda Cross; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Bill (Polly) Cross, Roy (Ruth) Cross, David Cross, Charlie Cross, Betty (Don) Couch and Johnny (Tina) Cross; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Reverend Lee Ingram and Reverend Carl Haulk officiating.  Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services. 

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19 at the funeral home prior to the service.
