Shirley Crawford
Shirley Skillington Crawford, 79, of East Brainerd went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 19, 2018.
Mrs. Crawford was retired from the Hamilton County Board of Education after many years of service.
She was an active member of Morris Hill Baptist Church where she had served as a former Sunday school teacher and had traveled on many mission trips.
She was a three-time cancer survivor.
She was preceded in death in 1995 by her husband, F.J. (Jack) Crawford; two brothers, Bobby and Bill Skillington and sister, Imogene Vandergriff.
Survivors are her children, Roger (Terri) Crawford, Soddy-Daisy; daughter, Jill (Lynch) Spain, Dayton, Tn.; seven grandchildren, Kyle Crawford, Zack (Jen) Crawford, Nathan (Carrie) Chance, Travis Chance, Brandon Bates, Jacqueline (Dominique) Darden and Trevor Bates; eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Bill Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with her grandson serving as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Research at American Cancer Society.
