Lee's Noble Named South Region Runner Of The Year

 Regional Athletes and Coaches of the year for the 2018 NCAA Division II Cross Country season were announced Tuesday evening by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Lee University’s Christian Noble was selected as the South Region Men’s Athlete of the Year.

Noble was the South Region individual champion with a time of 31:19.17. The title was the first individual championship in program history. The junior won by 25 seconds and helped the Flames finish in second and earn an automatic berth to nationals.

He has won the last three races he has participated.
Noble started the streak with a win at the Royals Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, N.C., on October 12. He has since won the GSC Championship and the NCAA Division II South Region Championship.

Noble and the rest of the Lee men’s team travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., for the NCAA DII Championships on December 1.
