The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team will face off against Saint Louis on the first day of the Cavalier Classic hosted by the University of Virginia.
The Billikens are 1-3 on the year with a win over Eastern Kentucky in the season-opener. They fell at home to Indiana State (60-56) and Cincinnati (51-50) at home and then battled to an overtime loss at Tulsa (86-75). Saint Louis is averaging 62.8 points per game and shooting 39.5 percent from the field. The Billikens are 17-of-53 (.321) from beyond the arc and 72.3 percent from the free throw line and are outrebounding opponents by 5.3 boards per game.
Jordan Frantz leads the team with 13.0 points per game and has a team-high 10 3-pointers.Ciaja Harbison is second on the team in scoring with 12.5 points per game and leads the Billikens with 18 assists.
Evan Zars leads the team with 6.8 rebounds per game and Amber Lindfors has a team-best 10 blocked shots.
The Mocs are 3-2 on the year and scored a season-high 75 points in their win over Liberty. UTC is averaging 60.4 points per game and is outscored by a 2.4 points per game margin by its opponents. From the field the Mocs are shooting 37.8 percent (102-270) and is 25-of-83 (30.1%) from beyond the arc. The Mocs have 34.6 rebounds per game and average 7.2 steals per game.
Lakelyn Bouldin leads the team with 12.2 points per game and had a team-best 21 at Virginia Tech. Eboni Williams is second on the team in scoring averaging 10.0 points per game off the bench. She is third on the team in rebounding with 4.8 per game. Abbey Cornelius has a team-high 5.4 rebounds per game and Molly Melton leads Chattanooga with 14 assists and 14 steals. She has a 1.2 assist-turnover ratio.
The Mocs Club is participating in #GivingTuesday on Tuesday, Nov. 27. The athletics fund-raising arm is beginning its “Drive for 25” campaign on #GivingTuesday. The campaign aims to raise $25,000 in scholarship funds for UTC student-athletes to which an anonymous donor has generously agreed to match.
Created in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely-recognized Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, which includes holiday and end-of-year giving.
