Chattanooga Native Named Medical Director For Fayetteville, Ar.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has appointed Kelvin Parks as the new director of the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, Fayetteville, Ar. Mr. Parks is a Chattanoogan and a graduate of Brainerd High School, class of 1986.

Mr. Parks will oversee delivery of health care in the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks which consists of one Veterans Health Administration facility located in Fayetteville, as well as Community-Based Outpatient Clinics in Fort Smith, Harrison and Ozark, Ar.; Branson and Mount Vernon, Mo.; and Jay, Ok. 

“We are excited to bring Mr. Parks on board as the new director of the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks," said Skye McDougall, PhD, South Central VA Health Care Network director. "His sound leadership qualities and proven experience will be valuable assets for the facility, the employees and volunteers, and most importantly, for the veterans we are honored to serve." 

Mr. Parks is a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer and has held progressive leadership positions in Veterans Health Administration in major medical centers during his career.  His most recent assignment was that of associate director, Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks.  He received his Bachelors of Science in Organizational Management from Crichton College, Memphis; and he holds a Master’s of Arts in Management and Leadership from Webster University, St. Louis, Mo.
