Gang Member Involved In Heroin Ring Gets 10-Year Federal Prison Sentence

  • Thursday, November 29, 2018

A gang member who was involved in a heroin distribution scheme that operated in Chattanooga, Knoxville and Atlanta has been sentenced to serve 10 years in federal prison.

Brandon Moore appeared before Judge Curtis Collier.

Moore was in the same conspiracy as Marlon Eberhardt, of Chattanooga, and others, including Chicago gang member James Silas who was just found guilty by a jury.

On June 28, 2106, Moore was traveling in Bartow County, Ga., when his vehicle was stopped. Officers found $4,000 on him and another $15,000 in a purse in the trunk. Moore admitted that he was traveling to Atlanta to purchase heroin from Percy Richard, his main supplier.

Moore was stopped again on Aug. 24, 2016, in Knoxville with $4,257. He admitted to agents that he was a heroin dealer. He said he had gotten supplies of heroin from Silas in Chicago twice in 2016. He said Silas was a high-ranking member of the Mafia Insane Vice Lords street gang. Moore said he was in the same gang.

He said he had a falling out with Silas and began getting his heroin from Richard.

Richard earlier received a 10-year sentence.

Silas is facing a much-longer term after going to trial.
