In an effort to give more fundraising and volunteer opportunities to young professionals, The Salvation Army of Greater Chattanooga in collaboration with early to mid-career professional in the community, launched Echelon earlier this year. Now, the group is hosting their second event – a city-wide evening of worship on Dec. 7, from 6-8 p.m., at First Presbyterian’s Rec Center, 535 McCallie Ave.
The event is entitled “Welcome King Jesus” and features contemporary songs led by the Brainerd Baptist house band and a devotion by Lt. James Harvin.
The cost to attend this family-friendly event is a new pair of underwear as this event is the launch of Echelon’s Drop Your Drawers campaign. All new underwear will go to homeless neighbors who visit The Salvation Army’s 614 Corps for clothing and emergency shelter from the elements.
Young adults from around the region are welcome. For more information on this event, contact The Salvation Army at 756-1023 or message the group through their facebook page @chattechelon.
