Michael Thomas Newton, 62, of Cleveland, Tennessee, peacefully went home to his Lord and Savior on November 5, 2018.

Michael was born in Valdosta, Ga., to parents, Eddie and Suzanne Newton. Michael married Sharie on June 11, 1983 in Fresno California. Michael worked faithfully at Terminix for 15 years. Michael was a veteran of Desert Storm, served in the Army, and was awarded a Kuwait medal among other accomplishments. He was a leader in the church community, as well as a devoted father and loving husband. His camping buddy was his son Michael. His fishing buddy was his daughter Autumn. His ministering buddy was his son Chris. His state champion was his daughter Kristal. The love of his life was his wife Sharie.

Michael is survived by his wife, Sharie Newton; his four children Chris, Kristal, Michael, and Autumn; his parents, Eddie and Suzanne Newton; his sisters, Cindy and Kelley; and his 9 grandchildren. 

Viewing will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Living Word Church, 930 25th St NW, Cleveland.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, also at Living Word Church. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Companion Funeral Home.
