Ooltewah High School Student Arrested For Making Threats On Instagram

Friday, November 9, 2018
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office patrol personnel were called to a residence Thursday evening in reference to a perceived, generalized threat toward students at Ooltewah High School, after concerns about an anonymous Instagram account was discovered circulating among OHS students.

Detectives from the HCSO began an investigation and a male juvenile student at OHS was identified as being responsible for the posting. The results of the investigation determined there were no means to carry out a threat in the possession of the student and he was arrested and transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center where he was charged with making false reports.

The HCSO makes an effort to investigate any threat, real or hoax, especially those directed towards the safety and welfare of children.
Each threat is taken as serious and criminal charges are typically considered when these type of incidents occur due to the potential of public alarm and disruption to normal school activities.

Why in the world would there be any question regarding the wildlife at East Lake park, and the humane relocation of same? Why would anyone need to beg for the right thing to be done? Maybe if the ducks could ride scooters, there would be money for this. Or maybe if they had means to pay for one of the so-called affordable apartments we have in Chattanooga, they would rate the ... As we open this week’s edition of The Saturday Funnies, it seems the best question of the day is how many Easter eggs can you put in an empty basket? If you answered ‘one,’ you are as smart as our famous Little Johnny, who explained that with just one egg, the basket wasn’t empty any longer. Please understand that I do not write The Saturday Funnies; I just assemble what I find ... (click for more)

Softball: Baylor Cools Off Soddy-Daisy, 8-0, In Lady Trojan Invitational

Tarps protected the infields of all four diamonds being used, but the outfields were soggy and the warning tracks had the texture of mud pies when heavy rain came back through the area in the third inning. Baylor jumped on host Soddy-Daisy for three first-inning runs and ... (click for more)
