Louise Satterfield Jones

Louise Satterfield Jones, 89, passed away at home on November 29, 2018, with her family by her side.

She was born on March 8, 1929, in Dalton, Ga. as the eldest child to the late Flossie and Eugene Satterfield. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Jones and her sisters, Delores Straw and Wilma Jean Harris.

Louise is survived by her sister, Brenda Satterfield Adams, who cared for her during the last years of her life; and daughters-of-the-heart, Julie Adams Jacobs and Alison Adams Flood. Although she did not have any children of her own, she mothered many nieces and nephews and many children in the Dawnville community, giving out bags of candy to all the children who visited C&M Supermarket. Louise loved her beloved late husband James until the day she died. They spent many date nights at the Cremo in Dalton before they eloped in 1947; they told no one for a week, both returning to their respective homes. Louise and James loved to work and spent over 50 years running C&M Supermarket in the Dawnville Community.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Love Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Chad Jacobs officiating.

In honor of Louise, the family asks that friends attend her service and remember her amazing life, and that you all promptly return to work because “a person that won’t work isn’t worth two cents."

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
