Betty-Jo Stephenson, 79, of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 9, 2018.
Betty-Jo was born December 16, 1938, in Atlanta to the late Joseph and Elisabeth Ozmer. She lived in the Chattanooga area for the past 50 years and was a member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Morgan Sunday School Class. Mrs. Stephenson retired from the Hamilton County School System after 22 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, James Stephenson Jr.; and brothers, Joseph Windsor Ozmer Jr. and Paul Randall Ozmer.
She is survived by her sons, Randall Hebert and Brad (Seaira) Stephenson; daughters, Elizabeth (Andy) Day and Margaret (Dan) UpDyke; and grandchildren, Beth Day, Katie Day, Sarah Day, Emily UpDyke, Abigail UpDyke, Jacob UpDyke, Michael Randy Wallin, Dana Patrick Wallin, Haley Brooke Wallin, Audriana Wallin and Derek (Rebecca) Lovely.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at First-Centenary United Methodist Church, with Dr. David Harr, Dr. Mark Gooden and Dr. Linda McDaniel officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, and the body will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
