Jackiya Le’ion Provens, 12 years, died in a house fire on October 6, 2018, in Rossville, Georgia with her father, Curtis Leon Provens.
Jackiya was a 7th grader at Chattanooga Valley Middle School. She was also the 2016-2017 Spelling Bee Champ at Eastside Elementary. Even though Jackiya gained her wings at a young age, she was a leader with a beautiful soul. Jackiya was one of a kind. She was a very outspoken and wise. Jackiya loved to play basketball, swim, skate, cook, sing and dance. She also loved to pick up pallets with her father.
In addition to her father Curtis, Jackiya was preceded in death by her grandmother, Brenda J. Darwin, of Chattanooga; grandfather, Luther J. Albey of Paducah, Kentucky; grandfather, Earnest Provens of Chattanooga; and Bell Lee Provens of Atlanta; brother, Kentrell Provens.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Jacqueline Albey; brothers, Vincente Albey, Darrius Starling, Mario Fitch, Jr.; sisters, Monteiana Ross, Jherni Provens, and Cureasha Provens; special aunts, Dr. Caryn Darwin of Houston, Texas, Janet Provens and Tangela Albey, Ebon Sanford, of Chattanooga; special niece, Trekiyah Albey; and brotherly-like nephew, De’rell Provens; many other nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, Ebonae and Azuntae Sanford; numerous special friends. Jackiya was LOVE and TRUTH and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Celebration of life service will be held on Dec. 22, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home.
