Lee's Schubert Wins Third Gulf South Freshman Of The Week Award

 In what is becoming a bit of a pattern, Lee women's basketball guard Haley Schubert claimed her third Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week honor on Tuesday the league office announced.

Schubert scored six points in a 49-47 loss at Young Harris last Tuesday before adding nine points, five steals and four rebounds in an 89-50 blowout of Fort Valley State on Saturday.

The Knoxville, Tenn. native is averaging 11.6 points per game and 3.3 steals per contest. Schubert and the Lady Flames (6-2, 1-0) will finish the pre-Christmas schedule with three GSC matchups as they travel to Shorter on Wednesday before hosting Valdosta State (Saturday) and West Florida (Monday) in Walker Arena.
