A Chattanooga tree service operator is helping out the sons of a fellow tree service operator who was struck and killed while changing a flat tire by Apison Pike last month.

Tyler Schievelhud of Lumberjacks Tree Service said he was friends with Richard Lamneck and had done some business with him.

He said his family recently called and asked if he wanted to purchase Dr. Rick's Tree Service. He agreed to buy the assets and the phone number.

Mr. Schievelhud said he has also decided to give 10 percent of the profit on work that comes from the Dr. Rick's number to his two sons, Christopher and Evan.

He said, "Rick was in his early 40s and had not made any plans for retirement or for providing for his sons. This is a way his business can keep providing for them."

The number for Dr. Rick's Tree Service is 423 400-1440.
