Limiting Free Speech - And Response (3)

  • Sunday, December 16, 2018
Facebook has become a place where your freedom of speech is limited by the Left. The community standards are such that anyone can be suspended for anything like I was last night. They said that my recent post concerning the death of the eight-year-old illegal child was classified as hate speech.

They are illegals if they cross into another country illegally.

Yes, they are humans, but they are also criminals for crossing the border illegally. The child died because of the parents trying to cross not one but two countries illegally.

There is nothing wrong with this post and it's not hate speech. This isn't my first time being suspended by this organization for so-called violations of the community standards, which are very vague.

It has gotten to the point where anyone can report you for anything that offends their sensitive feelings. I admit that a few of the suspensions were warranted, but it has gotten to the point where the Left can suppress free speech and get away with it. I wonder how many others have been treated this way by Facebook for speaking the truth.

Mr. Stanley,

I have a question. Would your post, that led to you being "banned" by Facebook, meet the editorial requirements of this publication?

Mr. Stanley,

Facebook is a joke. Do what I just did and get off of social media. You can download all your information if you wish then either:

1) suspend your account, or
2) delete your account

Anyone can download any pictures you put on Facebook or use comments against you. I quoted some song lyrics on there and was visited by the police because someone thought I needed help.

Also when you see someone with 800 plus friends it is ignorant. A friend is totally different than people that someone probably doesn't even know.

Bobby, stop the one man pity party. Facebook is neither right nor left leaning. A few years ago a group of 'someones' banned together to voice complaints against me for voicing concerns on their site about racial injustices and police misconduct taking place locally and around the nation. Everything and then some I spoke out about has since pretty much come to light. Facebook gave me seven days to upload my driver's license, with picture, and provide them with other personal information I felt they had no right to, or they would delete my account. I informed them there's no way I would give up such information just to post on social media. I also told them I'd save them the trouble of deleting my account in seven days and would delete it myself right away, and that's exactly what I did. I deleted my account and told them don't send me that dumb generic form they usually send out asking me why I deleted my account or if I would be willing to return. I haven't heard from them since. Neither do I miss posting on their site.

It's not a right or left thing. It isn't a conservative or liberal thing. It's when people form a group and several reports are sent to Facebook complaining about what someone has posted. In some cases the complaints are legitimate. In others they're to silence dissent.

In your case, I personally feel Facebook did the right thing. There's more to the death of that eight-year-old Guatemalan girl than what you likely lifted from some right wing conservative leaning site.
