Ruby Jeanette Hunter, age 82, departed this life, Sunday December 16, 2018 at a local hospital.
She was born Sept. 9, 1936 in Ranger, Ga., a daughter of the late John and Ruby Dalton Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Bernard McCain Sr., Elmer Hunter; sons, Bernard McCain Jr., Jackie McCain; and sister, Katie Williams.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Herman Jones of Chatsworth, Ga., Candy and Jasper Pike of Dalton, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Margie Williams, Frank and Kay Williams, Ralph Williams; sister, Betty Vick all of Dalton, Ga.; grandchildren, Malena and Glenn Harkless, Julie Jackson, Melvin Jackson, Chris McCain, Wesley McCain, Tyler and Margaret Pike, Brittani and Coby Bryson; great-grandchildren, Markell, Jamaze, Jacob, Tiffany, Trey; great-great-grandchildren, Laraya, Blaze, Kambri, Zaylon; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Ruby Jeanette Hunter will be held Friday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Milton Rainey officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21.
