Bettye M. Headrick, 81, of Pulaski, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018, at NHC Nursing Home in Pulaski.

A native of the Kensington community in Chickamauga, Ga. She attended Cedar Grove Grammar School and graduated from Chattanooga Valley High School. Bettye then applied to Fort Sanders Presbyterian hospital school of Nursing and received her RN diploma in 1958.  She worked for several years as a registered nurse in Savannah and Fayetteville, Tn., then applied to Madison Hospital School for nurse anesthetist and received her degree in 1970.  Bettye worked for several years as a CRNA, first in Shelbyville, Tn., then in Lewisburg and she retired from anesthesia in Pulaski, Tn.  While living in Shelbyville, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron. Bettye came to live in the Lynnville community of Giles County in 1979.  She attended and played the piano at First Baptist Church in Lynnville.

Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, Don C. and Willie Mae Pittman Headrick; brother, Donnie Headrick; sister, Jerry Sue Holt.

Bettye is survived by a sister, Estella H. Dobert of Manchester, Tn., and a brother, Richard O. Headrick, Chattanooga; brothers-in-law, Willie Holt and August Dobert; nephews, Travis, Troy and Todd Holt, Chris Headrick, Augie and Marc Dobert; and several great-nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. CST on Friday, Dec. 21, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home, 1228 East College Street, Pulaski, Tn. 38478.

Graveside services for Bettye will be held 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, at Coulter Memorial Cemetery, 190 W. Cove Road, off Highway 193, in the Kensington Community of Chickamauga, Ga., with the Reverend Barry Wilks officiating the service.
