Anne Gray
Patricia Anne Smith Gray, 78, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, peacefully passed from this life into glory on December 15, 2018.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1940, in Cheyenne Draw, Texas.
Mrs. Gray was a Christian and part of the family of God and exemplified the life of her Lord, Jesus Christ. Anne and Glen worked as missionaries in New Zealand (where they had their daughter), and ministered in Louisiana, Colorado, Texas, Nebraska, Iowa and Tennessee.
She worked as an elementary school teacher in most of those places and specialized in learning disabilities. Above all of this, Anne was an adored Sunday School teacher who wrote a brilliant curriculum that has been used by many churches across the nation.
Her parents, Raymond J. and Myrtle Smith, her brother, R. J. Smith, and her sister, Molly Virginia Smith Buffington, preceded Anne in death.
Anne is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gerald Glen Gray; a daughter, Anne-Geri’ “Angie” Gray Fann, son-in-law, David, and her grandsons, Bradon and Avary Fann.
A Celebration of Life Worship Service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 20, at the East Brainerd Church of Christ, 7745 East Brainerd Road in Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
Flowers may be sent to the church, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a beloved ministry to Honduras (Predisan-USA, Inc. P.O. Box 72618, Marietta, GA 30007.)
