Tyrus Johnson Shot At Sale Creek; His Great-Nephew Cameron Smith, 22, Arrested In Incident On Mount Tabor Road

Tyrus Jerome Johnson was shot at Sale Creek on Mount Tabor Road on Saturday afternoon.

Sheriff deputies arrested and charged his great-nephew, Cameron Everett Smith, 22, in connection with the shooting.

At approximately 3:45 p.m., Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 13,800 block of Mount Tabor Road for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located Johnson who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital via Hamilton County EMS for medical treatment. 

Smith was arrested and charged with aggravated assault (domestic). Additionally, he was charged with reckless endangerment. Smith also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear which was also served.

The extent of Johnson's injuries is not known at this time.
